Saint Mary Magdalene

This icon is hand-painted (hand-painted) with gold leaf in carved wood and lightly aged with the traditional technique of Mount Athos. It has the signature of the hagiographer and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
St. Mary Magdalene came from Magdala west of Galilee. When she learned about Christ she went to him and got rid of the demons that bothered her and became his disciple. After His Resurrection He came first to His Tomb with perfumes and angels announced His Resurrection. Later he went to Ephesus near Agios Ioannis the Theologian where he died. He was buried at the entrance of the cave where the three children later slept in Ephesus.
Our church honors the memory of the Saint on July 22.
