Famous Christian ascetic of Egypt and founder of the solitary life. He was born in 250 in Coma, Egypt. During his ascetic life he never changed his clothes, nor did he wash his body with water. He taught his disciples not to consider anything superior to the love of Christ and not to think that if they abstain from worldly goods, they are deprived of something worthwhile.
The memory of Agios Nikolaos is honored by our church on January 17 of each year.
