This image is handmade hagiography (hand painted) with gold leaf on carved wood. It has the signature of the hagiographer and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
The prophet Elijah was one of the greatest prophets of Israel. The prophet Elijah or Elijah or Elijah in Hebrew came from Thesvi in the region of Gilead and lived in the 9th century BC. The Prophet Elijah practiced his prophetic gift for 25 years. He foretold the coming of Christ to earth, 816 years before his birth. He passionately fought against idolatry and tried with his word to consolidate the moral life of his people. On Mount Horiv he gained the experience of the Epiphany (he saw God himself), crossed the Jordan with his apple and finally ascended to the heavens with a fiery chariot. He also attended the Transfiguration of Christ with Moses.
Our church honors his memory on July 20 of each year.
